Files on an instance

The volume lives on the node. When the session is ready, browse, download, upload, mkdir, and delete via files RPC — not a host editor or a fake world folder.

Where files live

The instance volume is on the node that holds the guest. Worlds, configs, and mods stay with that instance_id. Switching titles keeps the same volume; it does not mint a second id.

The tab shows UnavailablePanel when there is no node or the session is not ready. When attached, Files proxies list/read/write/mkdir/delete to foxd over the node session. Download uses the same read RPC. It does not open a host editor and does not invent sample worlds.

What to do today

Browse, download, upload, mkdir, or delete under the instance bind when the node session is ready. Keep the instance id when you contact support about a missing world or config.

  1. Open the instance from Services.
  2. Open Files when the node session is ready. If UnavailablePanel is up, fix the node session first.
  3. Browse, download, upload, mkdir, or delete under the guest volume.
  4. Include the instance id if something on the volume looks wrong.

Plugins, modpacks, and config files

When a pack declares plugins, modpacks, or config files, the panel opens Files at that path. You upload into the directory the pack named. There is no separate catalog installer and no host editor. The files RPC is the write path. UnavailablePanel still means the node session is not ready.
