Use the instance console
Console attaches when a ready node shows observed running. Frames fan in through the control plane; an empty pane is not a log replay.
Where it lives
Open the instance from Services and open Console. The browser WebSocket fans in through the hibernatable NodeSession Durable Object to foxd on that instance id — not SSH onto the Worker.
The tab shows UnavailablePanel when there is no node, the session is not ready, or observed power is not running. It is not a log viewer and it does not replay sample lines.
What attached means today
When the tab attaches, type commands after the session reports connected. An empty pane waits for foxd console frames — attached is not a fake transcript. Start and stop stay on the instance header; closing the tab does not change desired power.
- Open the instance and confirm observed power is running.
- Open Console. If it is not connected, fix the node session or start the guest first.
- When it is attached, treat an empty pane as waiting for frames — not as sample output.
- Stop or start from the instance controls, not by killing a panel tab.
Why the console is empty
An empty console is waiting for frames from foxd. It is not a stored log and not sample output. UnavailablePanel means the NodeSession Durable Object has no ready uplink, or observed power is not running. Closing the tab does not stop the guest.
